Welcome aboard, traveler.
MGtrek.com began life long ago in a galaxy… well, actually in 1990s movie fandom. Its original name, DBigWoo.com, was a loving nod to the world‑famous volcano The Big Woo from Joe vs. the Volcano (Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, Warner Bros., 1990). A cinematic masterpiece? Maybe. A source of joy? Absolutely.
But times change, interests evolve, and eventually the site set a new course. Now it sails under the banner of MGtrek.com — a fusion of two of my favorite things:
MGs: antique British sports cars with more charm than horsepower and more personality than practicality.
Star Trek: specifically TOS, because nothing beats Shatner pausing dramatically at the cosmos.
This site is my personal playground. I have a professional site, help clubs keep their online engines humming, and create small “just for fun” sites for myself and friends — but this one is for me. My own little corner of the internet, free from the whims of Xfinity, Verizon, Google, or any other digital overlord.
What will you find here?... A bit of everything.
Fun stuff. Serious stuff. Odd stuff. VIP‑only stuff. Stuff that appears, disappears, mutates, and occasionally reboots. MGtrek.com is permanently under construction — not because it’s broken, but because it’s alive. It’s not meant to be finished. It’s meant to be explored.
If you’re just passing through, enjoy whatever’s visible to the public. If you’re one of my VIPs, enjoy the secret goodies tucked behind the curtain.
And with that… Here’s to boldly going where no little MG has gone before... probably to an old volcano!
